Full-time Code: E206
Part-time Code: E207
ThisÌýprogramme hasÌýbeen developed to deepen students’ knowledge and skills in analysis and problem-solving, and therefore their ability to address new issues and challenges in all civil engineering disciplines. The programme thus aimsÌýto produce graduates who are equipped for professional roles in the civil engineering industry.
The programmeÌýwill provide civil engineering graduates and practitioners with additional structured, formal training to complete the educational base for UK-SPEC Chartered Engineer under the institutions represented in the Joint Board of Moderators. Accreditation for the programme to meet the requirements of Further Learning for registration as a Chartered Engineer (CEng), will be sought from the Joint Board of Moderators shortly.
Applicants for admission to MSc (by coursework) in Civil Engineering must satisfy the following minimum general and programme-specific entry requirements:
AND
Relevant work experience and/or other qualifications deemed to be equivalent to the above to be decided on a case-by-case basis by the Faculty.
To apply, click , click on Postgraduate Programme and register by creating an account. The application deadline is normally near the end of March.Ìý
(Bruneian candidates intending to apply for local scholarship do not need to send an additional application to HECAS.)
International candidates intending to apply for Brunei Government scholarship need to send an additional application to Brunei .There is only one application period. The deadline is normally in the middle of February.
Postgraduate fees can be found here.
Ìý
The MSc (by Coursework) Civil Engineering programme is offered on a full-time basis over one year, or part-time basis over two years.
For modules in the part-time arrangement, classes will normally only take place on one day a week (normally on Saturdays), in which the students will join full-time students on the modules. However, part-time students may be required to attend classes on other days of the week in certain circumstances.

The MSc in Civil Engineering programme (full-time and part-time) is accredited by the Joint Board of Moderators (JBM) comprising of the Institution of Civil Engineers, Institution of Structural Engineers, Institute of Highway Engineers, the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation and the Permanent Way Institution on behalf of the Engineering Council as meeting the academic requirement for Further Learning for registration as a Chartered Engineer (CEng). To hold accredited qualifications for CEng registration, candidates must also hold a Bachelor (Hons) degree that has been accredited as partially meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered Engineer (CEng).
