14 May 2025 – °ÅÀÖÊÓƵ (UTB) has formalised a strategic partnership with JPMC College of Health Sciences (JCHS) through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), reinforcing both institutions' commitment to innovation in education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Mohd Saiful bin Haji Omar, Acting Vice-Chancellor of UTB, and Ms Chung Yea Fui, Chief Executive Officer of JPMC College of Health Sciences. The signing ceremony took place at the UTB Main Conference Room and was attended by representatives from both institutions, including principal officers for UTB and JCHS, academic staff, and invited guests.
Delivering remarks on behalf of UTB, Yang Mulia Pg Dr Azhan bin Pg Hj Ahmad, Head of Research for the Digital and Creative Research Thrust, highlighted the significance of the partnership:
“This signing ceremony represents an exciting continuation of what has already proven to be a fruitful collaboration between our institutions.
Our journey together began with the development of a Virtual Reality learning tool—a project that exemplified the transformative potential of technology in education. This collaborative effort was recognised with the BICTA 2024 award in the Tertiary category.
At UTB’s School of Computing and Informatics, we contribute expertise in extended reality, gaming, AI, and product design to create immersive and intuitive learning environments. Coupled with JCHS’s deep understanding of health sciences education, we aim to push the boundaries of what’s possible in teaching and learning.
The beneficiaries of this partnership will be our students—the future professionals who will shape society. By exposing them to cutting-edge technologies and pedagogical approaches, we prepare them for both today’s and tomorrow’s careers.
I am confident that this collaboration will lead to innovative solutions that create meaningful impact and educational advancement for both institutions and the broader community.â€
Both parties echoed these sentiments and expressed a shared commitment to the long-term success of the partnership. The collaboration is expected to generate various joint initiatives—including technological innovation in health education, internship programmes, and research projects—that will enhance student development and academic excellence.
The MoU marks a milestone in UTB and JCHS’s mutual pursuit of high-quality, future-ready education.
