Self-injury Awareness Day (SIAD)

Friday, 1stÌýMarchÌýis Self-Injury Awareness DayÌý(SIAD)Ìýa²Ô»åÌýMarchÌýis Self-Injury Awareness Month. ÌýSIADÌýis an international awareness day and is a day meant for learning about self-injury behaviors and for providing resources to those who are in need of help. Its purpose is to remove the stigma attached to self-injury, and to encourage parents, family members, educators, and healthcare professionals to recognise the signs of self-harm.

AnÌýorange ribbon,Ìýrepresenting a sign of hope for a misunderstood problem, symbolises this awareness day.

The Counselling Unit is delighted to be promotingÌýSIADÌýthroughout the entire month ofÌýMarchÌýin UTB commencing onÌýMonday, 2²Ô»åÌýMarch.

AÌýSIADÌýbanner will be placed at the Lobby to mark this important campaign.

500 orange ribbonsÌýwill be distributed around the Campus for staff and students forÌýfreeÌýto encourage awareness ofÌýself-injuryÌýin UTB.

A Digital Display showcasing a slide show aboutÌýself-injuryÌýwill be made available at two locations:Ìýthe LobbyÌýand theÌýLibrary,

Flyers aboutÌýSIADÌýwill also be placed at main areas in the Campus.

So wear anÌýorangeÌýribbon, anÌýorangeÌýwristband, tie, socks, shirt, scarf or anythingÌýorangeÌýinÌýMarchÌýto show your support of this awareness campaign!
